An Ode to Faeries

String and drum and flute raise up their merry cry,
Flashing feet unleash their graceful thunder.
As the dancers whirl beneath the open sky
The clouds themselves pause to gaze in wonder.
Bright smiles gleam like fire, eyes flash bright
As jewels, shining forth from faces fair.
When faeries dance the sun's own dancing light
'Pon the ocean seems clumsy by compare.
Their tale unfolds and it is too soon done
Before we watchers have half had our fill;
While weary feet rest beneath the setting sun
In our hearts does the dance continue still.
     That aught you know of beauty, say it not to me,
     'Till you have seen the dancing of the Sidhe.
