The Great Dickens Christmas Fair and Red Barn Productions communities are united in sorrow at the passing of our beloved friend and storyteller Mark Lewis. Mark performed several years at the Dickens Fair, most recently in 2011, as both a storyteller and as part of the very funny, musically infused Lewis Caroling. Some of you may remember him as the executioner or the pirate "Dirty Jack" at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Agoura and Blackpoint, but he was perhaps best known as the master of "Word Pictures", his amazingly imaginative storytelling style that garnered him two Emmy awards. He was the author of many stories and poems, two books, and guest-starred on television shows such as Northern Exposure and Grimm. His voice can also be heard on Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Paris and he served as Creative Consultant for Disney, Universal, and Microsoft. More recently he's been teaching presentation skills in the University of Oregon School of Journalism where he was much beloved by students.

We'll leave you with a little video history of the amazing Mark Lewis:
