Burlingame/Hillsborough
Christmas Parade on Friday
(from Shannon Damnavits)
Did you miss the Macy’s Day Parade because you were busy rehearsing,
building your costume or reminding your family that you wouldn't be
seeing them again until Christmas Eve? Now is your chance to be
the parade! The Dickens Christmas Fair has been invited to walk in the
Burlingame Christmas Parade this Friday, December 1 from 5:15 – 6pm in
downtown Burlingame. Two of our madcap Great Racers on their
bicycles have agreed to lead, but we can only participate if we have 10
or more in our group! It’s a short walk and great fun. No
giant balloons, but likely televised by NBC 11! Please contact
Shannon@redbarnproductions.org right away so we can lock down our
involvement. Comp tickets, candy canes and gratitude are waiting for
you….Thanks!

The Great Dickens Christmas Fair
Union Square Holiday Stroll
(from Kathy Kingman)
Also remember everyone, we've been asked by ACT to be involved in the
Union Square Holiday Stroll, we will be handing out flyers and
spreading holiday cheer on Thursday, Dec 7. The events feature
festive holiday lighting, in-store parties and special promotions with
all of the participating stores. There will be a tent set up in the
square at 3:00. The Dickens Fair will have a table in the tent.
We would like to have everyone meet as close to 4:30pm as possible. . I
realize that this might be difficult with people's work schedules, etc.
4:30 to 8pm. We will also be given a table inside the main tent
at Union Square. Kathy will be there at 4-4:15 pm to meet you at
Union Square (on Geary between Powell & Stockton)
What's in it for us? The Dickens Fair characters will be
mentioned in all of the press releases, all the ads, and on the Holiday
Stroll Web site, with a link to our Web site. This is an exciting
opportunity for the fair as well as for each of you because each
participant will receive a certificate good for two tickets to the ACT
production of A Christmas Carol, That will be above and beyond the
Holly Tree Club bonus of two comp tickets per person to the fair- plus
with all the holiday parties it should be lots of fun anyway. In order
to get the tickets from ACT you MUST check in with the point person who
will have the tickets.
Friends of the Libraries!
(from Kathy Kingman)
Wednesday, December 6 -- Dickens characters needed for a Holiday Party
in San Francisco
Please join Mr. Dickens and Mr. Scrooge at the Friends of the San
Francisco Public Library office (391 Grove Street at Gough) from 6:00
to 8:ish. This holiday party is a thank-you for donors and volunteers
who are working to renovate all the branch libraries in San Francisco.
Your job, difficult though it may be, is to eat, drink and tell the
guest of honor what Dickens' London was like and what they will find at
the Fair. If you can talk about whether your character is literate or
not (and why)--all the better. Singers of Carols would be very welcome!
It is a festive occasion; do help us celebrate!
“I’m ready for my photo, Mr.
DeMille”
(from Kathy Kingman)

take part in Dickens Fair promotions this and next year. Even if you
will have a different character next year please sign up if you are any
good on camera or stage. We need good people! E-mail Kathy with the
subject line “take my profile!” in the subject heading. Kathy will make
an appointment to meet with you and have you fill out the publicity
