The Dickens
Fair Marketing team is having great success again this year! We
had record breaking attendance last year
with people staying closer to home due to "somewhat reduced
circumstances", great PR, and expanded promotions to the east bay via
BART
along with all your efforts and much, much more!
Our advertising firm McWilliams Creative of Pacifica (now in their 4th
year with
us) is once again hard at work creating great radio, television, online
and
print exposure for us, leveraging our few dollars with ticket trades
and good
old marketing moxy. These include bigger, better and COLOR ads in the
Chronicle!
As always, a
huge part of our success is YOUR contribution in YOUR communities with
posters,
flyers and most important of all, YOUR excitement and passion about the
Fair. All the goodies will be available
at workshops including large and small posters - printed 2-SIDED this
year for
store windows!

Copperfield's Bookstores Promotion

Great news!
Copperfield's bookstores have been named our official North Bay
Bookstore Vendor
for Dickens tickets! All six of their independent bookstores (Petaluma,
Santa
Rosa, Sebastopol, Healdsburg, Calistoga, Napa) will begin selling and
promoting
Dickens Fair tickets starting next week. Each store will have a holiday
display
of classic books by Dickens, Poe, Verne, etc to help promote the Fair
as well.

once again encouraging people to take BART (and the shuttle) or

Returning
with expanded coverage will be BART.
More posters on over 100 trains, double the shuttles from last year.
(and yes, Virginia, there will be a handicapped shuttle). Just
in: Will Wood, portraying
"Bartle
B. Best" will be riding the "Silver Serpent" selected weekdays
during commute hours to expend his "Very Very Own" personal
invitation. Perhaps a ticket or two will
be offered to those clever and caffeinated souls who can answer a
question or
two such as "Who wrote Dickens A Christmas Carol"?

Lils in San Francisco is a new gung-ho partner this season. They
have purchased a huge billboard on
Lombard featuring the Fair and their promotion with us for "pub
nights". With the purchase of special menu items,
diners will receive 2 free tickets to the Fair!
We will also have performers there on certain nights throughout the run.
