(from Steve George)
Are you new to the Great Dickens Christmas Fair? Haven't found your niche yet or need a change of pace? Try the Adventurer's Club! We need new members of our esteemed Club Staff. Both Maids and Footmen are needed.

Also, we are ever seeking Adventurers, Luminaries of many disciplines and noteworthy personalities of the glittering Victorian age. Explorers, Writers, Social Reformers! John Hanning Speke, Flinders Petrie, Dr. Livingston are, thus far, missing! You are needed! Come forth!"

For more information, contact HG Wells at the Adventurers' Club.

Legion Fantastique  2009 Auditions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(from Peter Overstreet)
 If you like exploring the depths of the sea, or shooting for the moon, then Legion Fantastique is the place for you! We are looking for dedicated, friendly, and talented actors and artists to join us in our quest to faithfully bring the worlds of Jules Verne to vibrant life! If you would like to take on the challenge of being bigger than life Victorian-age science fiction characters in a fully immersive theatrical environment ... we want to meet you!
AUDITIONS will be on the evening of MONDAY, OCT. 12, 2009 between 7:00pm - 9:30pm in San Francisco. This year, we are looking for people (MALE AND FEMALE) who can "Act Big", these will be individuals who will not only be environmental actors, but will also have the opportunity to narrate one of our slideshows ("Return to the Center of the Earth" & "From the Earth to the Moon"), as well as participate in our "Giant Squid Feeding" show.
NOTE: SPACE IS LIMITED!!! We are not currently looking for people who just have a cool costume or a nifty gadget (as much as we appreciate the enthusiasm)...we need some "spotlight stealers". Due to our space limitations, we will be unable to cast everyone who auditions...so please be aware that an audition is not a guarantee for a role.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO AUDITION - Please send an email to: poverstreet@gmail.com  (with something particularly Jules Verne related in the header...just to see that you're paying attention) to schedule an audition time and to receive our list of characters we are looking to cast. If you could please send a recent photo of yourself as well, that would help.
Thank you.
-Peter Overstreet
Oh tenors....?
Brass Farthing is Looking for a Few (More) Good Men!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(from George Chlentzos)

Gentlemen, for those of you yearning to sing, drink beer, and enjoy the company of witty and hilarious men, salvation is at hand! Brass Farthing, a singing, drinking, and general carousing company, is auditioning for Tenor and Bass singers for our all-male singing ensemble, as we prepare to record our 2nd CD, and for our upcoming performances at Dickens Fair.

If you found yourself singing along with us at Mad Sal's or the (World Famous) Green Man Inn, and weren't shushed by your neighbors, then you may be the man we're looking for!

Auditions will be held by appointment in Berkeley. We rehearse in Berkeley every Thursday evening. Just bring a song and a story and we'll take care of the rest.
Contact George@SmartestMonkey.com  now!

Thanks,
-George
The Mikado Still Needs a Tenor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(from Paul Sinasohn)
Rehearsals have begun and we have a great cast for our adaptation of Gilbert & Sullivans' "The Mikado" but still need another tenor for the chorus. This great show will be performed once a day at the Victoria & Albert Music Hall Theatre. Singer would need to be able to sing in a classical or Broadway style, hold pitch in a multi-part chorus and move on stage. Dance experience not a prerequisite.
If interested, please email Paul Sinasohn at  regfoghorn@yahoo.com
French Postcards Auditions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(fromDiana Young-Peak)
Saucy French Postcards, a comical presentation with provocative tableaux vivants, returns for a fabulous fifth year of Dickens After Dark - when the good children of London are home abed, and adults go out to play!

Older, younger, perfect proportions, not-so-perfect proportions, short ones, tall ones, big ones, small ones, come one come all!  The saucy French Postcard Review will be auditioning for non-speaking tableau roles on the first day of workshops.  Roles for both men and women are available, and participants of all ages (over the age of 18, that is!) are invited to try out.  Our show includes tableaux in full Victorian garb, as well as our popular artistically draped representations of classical subjects, and we are always looking for a few fresh ... um ... faces.
