RBP Good News Missive Addendum #2
(sent September 16th, 2008)
Once again, good news and sad news
The Good News
Michael Bassignani (Gideon Faust of the Corinthian Rose Sporting
Club- Dickens (or Black Michael of the Cardiff Rose -Ren Faire) &
Deyon Burke (Lillian Rose) were married July 19, 2008.
Billy Higgins, guildmaster of St. Patrick's Guild will be graduating
with my BFA in theatre and dance performance from Wyoming this December.
Billy also forwards that "recent St Pats members, James & Seetal
Rhoades welcomed their son Alexander yesterday afternoon. He was born
at Petaluma Valley Hospital at 1:32p.m.. He weighs 7 lbs, 8 oz and is
18 3/4 inches long. Mother and son are doing great!"
Chris Caswell "finished chemo/radiation for colorectal cancer on St.
Patrick's Day (played a piping gig that night at a crowded sports bar).
After a month, the surgeon said I had had a Very Good response and he
couldn't see an cancer. Last week he looked again and said my tissue
was soft and pretty much normal, with even a minimum of scarring.
Cool! Thanks to all for their support and loving wishes. I can't tell
you how important Dickens was to me last Winter!"
Lynn Combs passes along this story:
Along time ago a young lady of 14 came to faire at Blackpoint to braid.
When she no longer had a ride to faire, she took the train to Martinez.
There friends and boothees would pick her up at Amtrack and bring her
to faire. She was very determined to be at faire and with all of us.
Lynn Combs (Tante') and Erin L were her guardians and James was her
"big brother" for three years, until she turned 18 (and we removed the
symbolic leash). She eventually left faire to attend and graduate from
UCSD and is now working in Chicago. She was my first faire "baby". I
would like to announce her marriage:
Janessa K - a hair braider - was married to Shaun on September 5th. She
and her husband have just returned (safely) from their honeymoon in the
Caribbean.
And the Sad News
I received this yesterday
"Gordon Sullivan
aka
Sully
aka
The crazy coot from the print shop
Left this world this morning shortly before 6 a.m. "
Kevin Patterson sent along two pictures, entitled respectively
SullyGoodJoke and SullyBadJoke, they're a nice look at the wonderful
and incorrigible man who graced our fair(e)s for many years.
