RBP Good News Missive
Addendum
(sent September 11th, 2008)
I have a few more bits of good news that have come in, but also some
sad news.
The Good News
Paul Sinasohn and Denise Gutierrez celebrated their 25th
anniversary on August 27th
Glen Fidi (Ralph Nickleby) and Steve Geist (Mr. Potts of Cuthbert's)
will be marrying December 6th.
And this great story from our own Mr. Micawber:
"Jon DeCles ran in the Nemean Games at Nemea, Greece, on the Solstice
this year. He is blogging the tale, but in short: he fell, he got
up, he continued to run. He got more applause than the
winner. He got awfully bloody. The whole thing was caught
on the tv cameras. He then ran the long race, 7.5 K, over a
mountain in 95F weather. He got his first taste of severe
dehydration. He was a sports hero on tv in the Argolid for about two
weeks. He didn't win either race, but they admired his sticking
to it and plodding on."
And the Sad News
Karen Porter emailed me that "Ruth Leggett of the old Rose and Stag
passed away early this last Saturday, 9/6/08. She had been
fighting congestive heart failure for a while and apparently died in
her sleep Anyone who spent time at the Rose and Stag at either
Ren Faire or Dickens Faire will surely remember her. At present
Steve is coping and will probably try to spend some time with friends
in Oregon for a while. I will try to keep you posted if there is
a wake. Sorry to pile more sad news on all that we have had
lately but it won't be long before we can all commiserate together at
the Fair(e)"
