August Snodgrass
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(from James Myers)
August
Snodgrass is a member of the Pickwick Club, and Mr. Pickwick's
ward.
He is a romantic young man who fancies himself a scholar and a
poet,
although he has written no poetry yet. He goes on at length about
how
very sensitive and artistic he is. Something of a dandy, he is
described as wearing "a mysterious blue cloak with a canine-skin
collar." Please contact James Myers at peers@peers.org
| Siamsa Auditions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(from Shirleigh Brannon)
Siamsa (music and dance of Ireland and Scotland) is looking for a few
good people.
We are interested in musicians who
(a) are already familiar with playing Scottish or Irish dance music
(preferably both);
(b) already have a good stage ensemble instrument and know how to play
it; and
(c) are willing to make the commitment to rehearse with us - no "just
sitting in" unless you check with Shirleigh or Sean first.
We
are also always happy to audition Scottish or Irish dancers - please be
at least a novice/prizewinner Irish dancer (or the equivalent in
Scottish dance) and be able to play well with others. Above caveats
also apply.
What do you get in exchange? The chance to get to
know and perform (without a net) with amazing, sweet, dedicated and
dryly funny people in a successful, fast-paced, seat-of-your-pants show
where you will discover performance, music, and dance flexibility you
never knew you had!
For more info e-mail us at info@siamsa.net or catch us RIGHT AFTER morning
meeting on the first day of workshops, at the back of the meeting hall.
