From Adrienne:
Here is a nice unexpected mention of Lee Presson, his Dickens role as Poe, the Fair, and the thriller video on YouTube!:

I'm glad this film reporter saw the connection between Lee and the Sherlock Holmes film!

Masters Thesis Dickens Fair Research Request from Bill Higgins

I am terribly sad to have missed Dickens this year. For the first time since I began the show I was not able to make the run, having added about 5,000 miles to my previous commute from the University of Wyoming. At the moment I am hiding out from the economy at Trinity College Dublin doing a Master's in Theatre and Performance at the Samuel Beckett Center. As part of this little adventure I need to write a 15,000 word thesis on a topic of my choosing.

What better than Dickens?

I am going to ask for any interested parties to get in touch with me regarding the show. What I am looking for is firsthand research materials (photos, interviews--To Be Arranged--, Flyers, Show Programs, etc.) I will be focusing primarily on the structure of London by the bay, our layers of performances within performances, and some of the "legitimate" theatre pieces created on stages, and in the streets of our space. If anyone would like to lend a hand, please shoot me an e-mail at billiamhiggs@gmail.com

and we will organize accordingly. As this is an Academic undertaking from a noted University, I will of course be giving full bibliographical credit to any and all sources included. I don't think I have ever been so excited to write a paper for school, and the utterly puzzled and joyful look on my program director's face when I explained what exactly it is we did made it all the more worth while. Hope this finds you all well, and I will see you in the year. Miss you all.

Best Wishes,
Billy Higgins

Los Altos Youth Theatre:  Great Expectations

(From Amy Goodman)
I just thought I would bring to your attention that Los Altos Youth Theatre is putting on a production of Great Expectations. the show is going to be wonderful and the quality far surpassed what you would expect from "youth" theatre and I highly recommend it to fairgoers. The show is held in the intimate bus barn theatre in downtown Los Altos and runs from March 5-20th for those interested. Tickets are cheap but make sure to get them relatively soon as the theatre only seats 100 at a time.

(from Kate Kravets)
I'd be delighted if you would come out and support me and the MIRA Theatre guild. I'm playing the mother in this Neil Simon classic set in Brooklyn, New York 1937. Great story, talented cast and the Bay Terrace Theatre is, no doubt unintentionally, the best kept secret in Vallejo.

Those of you from Lamplighters will know Caleb Alexander, who is playing Eugene.
(Note from Cat) Also our own Kiernan Morgan who dances with Siamsa and played Huck Finn in VMT's "Tom Sawyer)

See website  for info on dates and tickets. We run for 6 performances only - Fri & Sat nights and Sunday matinees. http://www.miratheatreguild.org
Hope to see you there!
